Peyton Healey is a business litigation attorney and Of Counsel at Hedrick Kring Bailey PLLC. Mr. Healey’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation and commercial transactional matters for startup entities and established companies. In a 2017 jury trial, Peyton was lead counsel for two businesses that resulted in a $98 million judgment, the 22nd largest verdict in the United States that year. Peyton’s commercial litigation practice includes pursuing and defending claims for breach of contract, fraud, patent, copyright and trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets, and negligence claims resulting in lost profits, among others. Peyton has significant experience in construction litigation, representing trades, contractors, and project owners.

Certified by the National Venture Capital Association and Berkeley Law in venture finance, Peyton engages with start-up ventures and established companies as an outside general counsel, guiding visionary brands in the emerging technologies space. He has counseled companies focusing on drones (both hardware and as-a-service), next-generation watersports, educational robotics, and wellness technologies. Peyton has counseled startup ventures at all stages of their funding lifecycles, managed complex intellectual property acquisition and licensing efforts, and formed business entities and structures to meet client goals.

Peyton has successfully represented clients before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and before the Dallas Court of Appeals. Peyton is admitted to practice before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, all federal district courts throughout Texas, and the courts of the State of Texas.

Before joining Hedrick Kring Bailey PLLC, Mr. Healey was an attorney at Munck Wilson Mandala, LLP from 2005-2008 and a Partner at Powers Taylor, LLP, from 2008 to 2020.

Mr. Healey is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Healey was listed in Texas Monthly and Texas Super Lawyers Magazine, a Thomson Reuters service – Rising Star Edition as a “Texas Rising Star,” 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Educational Background

In 2005, Peyton graduated from Baylor University School of Law. There, he clerked for the Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee, and served as a member of the editorial board of the Baylor Law Review.

In 2001, Peyton graduated from Baylor University with degrees in English and Religion.
